Leighton's First Halloween!

The original plan for Halloween was for Leighton to be Tinkerbell, a la this:

Unfortunately, getting it off of her after this try-on was an ordeal.

Plan B. We bought her a lady bug costume, which actually coordinated better with Noah's bee anyway;-)

Here are some highlights of Halloween night:

So excited!

The night before, we hit trunk-or-treat with cousin Braylee:

that's enough with the pictures, Mommy!
So glad these two girls got to hang out! Love us some time with the cousins!

As a bonus, here's Mackenzie in the costume I picked for her:

I swear, this hand on the hip thing is new and she didn't learn it from me!
She wanted to be a vampire cheerleader. I know, WTH?? Fortunately they did not have vampire fangs in her size. Plan B was much cuter for her;-)

Booga Braylee is 3!

We headed to the DFW area to spend the weekend with Bill's side of the family. Lexi had a soccer game on Saturday morning, so we all (well, minus April. she's still recovering) went to the game and then to Strikz for the girls to play (though Bill and Christa has as much fun as the girls did!). Lexi's team won (by a bunch!) and here are some pictures from Strikz:

Lexi teaching Bill the jumprope game. The best he did was two jumps, lol

Us and the girls

This ride simulated a roller coaster. Bray thought that was pretty awesome. She also though Booga Bill laughing like hyena was pretty hysterical, too.

This was a race car driving game. Braylee couldn't reach the pedals, so I pushed while she steered...into the forest, a gas station, a brick wall...etc. The second round she decided not to go on the road at all and just did dougnuts on the grass. Well, that round lasted about 30 seconds. Apparently when you avoid the road, you don't earn any points.

After Strikz we relaxed at April and Jim's before heading to dinner at Red Lobster where Braylee got a birthday sundae with a candle.

Saturday night, Lexi headed back with us and Sunday morning (Bray's actual birthday) we had birthday cinnamon rolls.

We had a great time with everyone. It had been way too long sense we had all been together. Now I'm about to get started on homework (I know, you're jealous). Hope everyone had a great weekend!
