Easter!

Easter turned out to be quite a big deal this year! We had been thinking we would have a nice day of church, brunch and Easter bunny pictures like last year. Mom and Dad ended up hosting with family from both Mom and Dad's side. It was an event to say the least!

Good Friday Leighton and I headed there just because we had both had a good night's sleep the night before. Saturday Bill met us and Dad boiled crawfish.

I'm just relaxing in my chair...
Leighton's first crawfish boil. She ate puffs. They're crawfish to her;-)
I took the girls for a ride on the golf cart and then we couldn't get them off. They literally just sat in it FOREVER
 She loves Paw Paw's porch!
She took a ride in her own "cart"

They sure do love each other!
Mackenzie is queen of the world!!!!

After Leighton went to bed, Mackenzie finally got to dye eggs. Mom got her this fancy pearlized dye. The turned out pretty!

Sunday I got the girls out as early as I could for pictures in their matching dresses. Mackenzie stayed in hers for about an hour. I think she had 4 wardrobe changes that day, lol.

We had an egg hunt, the kids painted each other's faces and (of course) they "pocked" eggs (as all good Cajuns do!).

They actually did a pretty good job!
Egg hunt! She got 2, which was way better than I was expecting. I really thought after the first one she'd throw a fit to not put it in the basket. After the second one, I didn't want to push my luck;)

egg "pocking"! She liked it!

After Easter festivities Bill had to make a short work trip, so Leighton and I stayed and went camping with Mom and Dad on Monday. She really enjoyed being outside so much!

Walking to the store with Paw Paw!
 Playground time!

Busy Visit Home

Last week Bill had to leave town for work, so Leighton and I ended up at my parents' place. It was nonstop!

First day we are there, we all notice mom's electricity is flickering for no reason. It ended up being a major electrical repair, so Leighton, Mackenzie and I loaded up and headed to Josh's to get dressed and be in the AC.

When we finally got settled, Leighton and I headed to my friend Megan's. This is interesting. In high school (and jr. high for that matter), Megan, Nicole and I were inseparable. This year, we have all welcomed new babies. Well, techinicall Eve was born last year, but not by much;)

So of course we got a shot of Megan's girls with Leighton:

The next day we had more family visitors in the morning and then headed to Nicole's to meet her new little man. He was soo tiny and cuddly!

Can't wait to have the whole crew running around together one day!

That evening Leighton went swimming for the first time. This was our third attempt to get her in the pool, haha

The next day Bill came to get us! We also had a big lunch with lots of family, but too many kids running around to get pictures.

Happy to see Daddy, surprised to see the flash

On Sunday, we spent the day recovering and getting back in order, but Bill put Leighton's jumpy together, so LOOOVED it! I also found the first bell pepper sproutin gon my "garden".

Hope everyone is surviving this horrid heat!

Father's Day Weekend

Overall, this weekend was very relaxed.

Friday, I had lunch with Andee and Aubree - how cute is she??

It had been so long since I'd had the chance to catch up with Andee and Aubree has grown so much since I've last seen her!

Friday night Bill FINALLY got home from his work trip, so we spent Saturday relaxing - got pedicures, Bill got a massage, and we ordered pizza and watched the Open.

Sunday, I road tripped to LA to see my Paw Paw and my Great Grandpa for Father's Day - along with lots of other family. Bill stayed home to take a breather before starting the work week after all the traveling he did last week.

It was so much fun! I got lots of time with Angel, whom I hadn't seen since the week she was born! So beautiful!

Here's a recap in (Aaron's)pictures ( I never took my camera out b/c I didn't have to, LOL):

Nanny, Aunt Corma and Mom - Libby was in the pool with the kiddos and missed the sister photo:(

Aaron, Celina and Angel

Paw Paw, Uncle Robert and their dad:)

Uncle Tim and Uncle Raymond

Paw Paw driving Grandpa home in his golf cart

Angel and I, so sweet!

Mom and I

Uncle Robert, Justin, Clara and kiddos w/ Grandpa

Rough-n-tough John Wyatt

On Saturday Angel and Kallie got to meet for the first time. I missed it (boo), but Aaron captured it on camera and it was too cute not to share;-)

Obviously, my two favorite fathers, my Dad and my brother, are missing from the photo display. Both were at work on Father's Day:(

Josh, the way you put Mackenzie first is inspiring. I can't thank you enough for taking such good care of my niece.

Dad, you really are the greatest father in the world. I have never once questioned that you love me, support me or are proud of me. That is the greatest gift a father can give his daughter and I am so grateful for you.

Hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day!
