I had some big plans for lots of time in the sunshine this weekend.
Did. Not. Happen.
Today, right now, it is finally sunny, and I'm about to finish up (or just continue) the major overhaul that is organizing my study. This room is a disaster!
But back to the weekend...
Friday night's plan was Mexican food on the patio at Rancho Grande with the girls. We would hang out and visit and when Bill was done with church, he would come meet us.
Well, a little patio time turned into several hours due to the awful thunderstorms making it not worth trying to navigate home. It also meant water was flooding the church so Bill and the guys had to pause from preparing for the men's event to stack sandbags and keep the water at bay.
I still had a blast with the girls, but Bill didn't get home until midnight and then had to be back at the church at 630 am to start cooking.
Trying to stay dry...
Saturday, Katie and I were going to do a couple hours in the midmorning at the lazy river and get some sun. Despite Friday's catastrophic storms, the forecast assured us only 30% chance of storms for Saturday - haha. We're so naive!
Plan B: lunch and some shopping. Not bad.
At Sharkey's - I swear I could eat there 3 times a week...
My summer vacation wardrobe - barely broke $100 - I'm such a bargain hunter! Haha!
Saturday night I got really excited when Bill called to say that because it rained so much and they were all soaked, he was coming home early and they would do clean up on Sunday.
I can't help it, I got my hopes. I was wrong.
If you would have seen him when he walked in the door! After a hot shower he told me good night and I didn't see him again until I woke him up on Sunday to tell him his breakfast was ready!
Today we did church and then he napped while I ran errands and worked out. He's back at church doing clean up now, and I'm about to finish organizing the study. I have piles everywhere!
Except for the storm keeping my husband away from me all weekend, it was nice to be in town and relax.
It was also nice for Bill to send me shopping when my plans got rained out. Though I promise I behaved and stuck to the sale items and only what I needed for Florida;-)
Hope you all managed to stay dry!
