Weekend

This weekend was pretty busy. The whole family was in Louisiana to celebrate my grandfather's birthday. I, unfortunately, didn't take any pictures. But others did, so hopefully I will have some soon.

Monday Bill had trucks to inspect in Biloxi, so Sunday night he and I headed to Beau Rivage for the night. We had dinner at Jia and gambled a little. Well, he gambled a little, I watched. It was decorated for Christmas and so beautiful!

Small selection of the over the top decorations
us after dinner (should have done this before we left, we were tired when we got back!)

At the last minute Bill got a call to look at trucks in Baton Rouge on the way home. It allowed us to have dinner with our best friends, Dusty, Courtney and Jake. They sent Leighton her Christmas present with us, and it is the first time Leighton has ever opened a present!

She was excited!

We have a busy schedule ahead, the holiday rush begins this week! Hopefully I will do better with taking pictures;)

The Thunder Storm Took My Weekend

I had some big plans for lots of time in the sunshine this weekend.

Did. Not. Happen.

Today, right now, it is finally sunny, and I'm about to finish up (or just continue) the major overhaul that is organizing my study. This room is a disaster!

But back to the weekend...

Friday night's plan was Mexican food on the patio at Rancho Grande with the girls. We would hang out and visit and when Bill was done with church, he would come meet us.

Well, a little patio time turned into several hours due to the awful thunderstorms making it not worth trying to navigate home. It also meant water was flooding the church so Bill and the guys had to pause from preparing for the men's event to stack sandbags and keep the water at bay.

I still had a blast with the girls, but Bill didn't get home until midnight and then had to be back at the church at 630 am to start cooking.

Trying to stay dry...

Saturday, Katie and I were going to do a couple hours in the midmorning at the lazy river and get some sun. Despite Friday's catastrophic storms, the forecast assured us only 30% chance of storms for Saturday - haha. We're so naive!

Plan B: lunch and some shopping. Not bad.

At Sharkey's - I swear I could eat there 3 times a week...

My summer vacation wardrobe - barely broke $100 - I'm such a bargain hunter! Haha!

Saturday night I got really excited when Bill called to say that because it rained so much and they were all soaked, he was coming home early and they would do clean up on Sunday.

I can't help it, I got my hopes. I was wrong.

If you would have seen him when he walked in the door! After a hot shower he told me good night and I didn't see him again until I woke him up on Sunday to tell him his breakfast was ready!

Today we did church and then he napped while I ran errands and worked out. He's back at church doing clean up now, and I'm about to finish organizing the study. I have piles everywhere!

Except for the storm keeping my husband away from me all weekend, it was nice to be in town and relax.

It was also nice for Bill to send me shopping when my plans got rained out. Though I promise I behaved and stuck to the sale items and only what I needed for Florida;-)

Hope you all managed to stay dry!

Weekend Recap (Better Late Than Never)

This weekend we headed back to Lousiana to visit.

Friday night we had dinner at DI's with Nicole and Randall. Bill got his first live Cajun music experience;-)

Saturday we headed to Baton Rouge to meet Jake!

He is perfect!

And Court loved her 'Team Jacob' t-shirt;-)

Dusty grilled steaks for us and the guys had a mini shopping spree at the Nike Outlet.

I say mini because it lasted less than an hour, but they did a lot of damage, lol.

Jake's Nike loot:

Of course there is an LSU bath towel!

We had a great time! It's so rare that we get to hang out with Nicole and Randall and meeting Jake was just so special!

Noah is 4

Today was Noah's fourth birthday!! To celebrate we took him shopping at Petco. It was animal adoption day, so we also got to let him play with some other furry children. Our favorite was a 6 month old shitzu, but she wasn't up for adoption:( Here are some pics from our day:

The rest of the weekend was good, too. We went out to dinner with friends on Friday night, I shopped all day yesterday and last night we cooked and had a few people over. The highlight of the weekend (other than Noah's birthday, of course) is that I ordered Bill a new wedding band. It is much flashier than his old one and should arrive around Valentine's Day. I'll be sure to post pics when it does!

Me and Kallie

It has finally happened! I got to meet Kallie, my new godbaby, this weekend. I'm in love! She's the cutest, tiniest little thing ever!!

2 weeks old and she's still only at 5 1/2 pounds! I'm bringing my Spring Coach next time so I can steal her:) She'd fit right in my handbag!!

We also made it out to Erath to see Leslie and Jonathan tie the knot! The ceremony and reception were beautiful and it was great to see old friends! I didn't bring my camera to the wedding, but we did take a family shot after we got home. Bill snapped one of mom and I at the reception with his phone, but he has yet to email it to me.

Noah looks a little shocked! LOL

Sunday we went and ate breakfast and Mackenzie came!! Unfortunately her ear started to ache while we were eating, so brought her to Walmart to get Tylenol and a get well toy (babies of course), but she still felt bad:(

We are pouting b/c her ear hurts:(

When we got home I rocked her and put the Disney Channel on - by the end of the first show she was back to normal! Played with her fur cousin and tried to con me into leaving him at my mom's for the week. Silly girl!

We got home fairly early, so I began the task of taking down the Christmas decorations - but I'm not happy about it at all! I love my house all decorated! The little tree is gone and the big tree is undecorated, but I haven't boxed it yet. I will do that tomorrow along with deChristmasing the mantle. My new tree should come in this week. I can't for next year with 2 big trees! So much fun!

Tomorrow also means back to work, so I must go get some rest! Have a great week!

Football, BBQ and Poker

We actually had a pretty busy weekend! I know you all find that hard to believe! Well, Friday night was friends night. Bill had a poker night with some of our friends from our old Bible study class. He didn't win, but had a lot of fun. Apparently, we are hosting the next one! While he was playing poker, I went to Chuy's with Stacie, Katie, Lexi (Stacie's niece), and Matt and Jacque Johnson. After dinner Stacie, Katie, Lexi and I went to meet Danny Bode at the Huffman football game. It had been so long since I'd been to a high school football game! It was so much fun and a total blowout for Huffman, which was great to see. However, it was pretty cold. When I got home I realized I hadn't taken any pictures (too cold to take my hands out of my pockets!), so Noah took one with me when I got home:)

Saturday after golf (for Bill) and Christmas shopping (me) we had some friends over for a BBQ. It was so great to have so many of our friends together at one time. Everyone had so much fun and at plenty. The party was completely divided between guys and girls, so we all got to catch up with each other. Though, that totally changed when the guys came inside. It was hard to talk over those rowdy boys! But we can't wait to do it again and hopefully extend the guest list.

Noah and I after Friday night football - I blacked out to support the home team!

After dinner Noah wanted to sit at the table like grown-up:)
Aubree Michelle Kesner made her first visit to the Hamrick house! Can't wait to have her back!
Noah and Aubree bonded, she's his new bff
Lots of things are coming up in the next couple months, so we should have much to share! We are going to try to go support Atascocita at their playoff game on Thursday (I think Bill is a little jealous I got to go to a football game, lol), we have my cousin Britney's baby shower, Paw Paw RJ's 75th birthday party, Celina and Aaron's babyshower, Thanksgiving, LSU/Arkansas, and the list goes on....I'll try to take lots of pictures to share with everyone. Hope you all have a great week, too!
