This Weekend...

In between homework and headaches (what is up with those???), I actually left the house a couple times!

Wednesday started Bill's member-guest tournament, so Bobby stayed with us Wednesday-Sunday. It's kinda weird, when Bobby's here it's just like normal. Like he's just always here and nothing is different. And he only comes for those few days every year!

Anyway, the guys kept busy with golf and night functions, but I no longer have the energy to go out on a school night.

Friday, Christa, Wes and Braylee stopped by on their way to Florida. We went to dinner, but I didn't get any pics.

Saturday we had the awards banquet for the tournament. The guys got 1st in their flight and 2nd overall in the playoff. The team that beat them did so with a "once in a lifetime" putt, so Bill was totally ok with it.

After dinner, we went to the proshop to spend the credit they won. Bobby got a new golf wardrobe, Bill bought me a sweet new pair of sunglasses - they were MUCH needed. I'm sure he'll spend the rest on golf balls (as needed!).

Sunday we had a food shower for Fawn and Jude and Aunt Corma's. Liam should be arriving any day now, so we wanted to make sure Seamus had dinner ready while his parents juggled having a new baby:)

Me and Baby H, ready to go

She got a couple relaxing gifts, too:)
Seamus, of course, stole the show, but Angel is well on her way to giving him a run for his money:)

So today it was back to a CRAZY busy day at work and night class. Here's hoping I sleep better tonight that last night!

Did You Feel That?

Sunday night, as I finally get all cozy and relaxed and snuggle up to my body pillow... whoa, what was that?

I nudge Bill (who's just dozed off) "Hey, hey! I think I just felt the baby move!"

Bill: "Oh, I'm sure that's normal." Rolls over to go back to sleep.

Me: "I know it's normal, but it's pretty amazing!"

Bill: "Well, that's good honey. I love you." And back to sleep.

So I did what any mature woman would do, I called my mother.

She squealed.

Since then I have slowly felt a little more activity from my munchkin. There is DEFINITELY a baby in there!

People always told me to watch out for the "fluttery" feeling. I never got that. Kid goes from 0-60 with no stops in between.

We are in definite "nudger" territory.

And then yesterday, after two nights of trying, Bill finally got to feel the nudger, too.

And now, he gets the excitement:)

Well, hope to have an actualy grown-up event or two to blog about from this weekend. We will see!

And a special congrats to my godchild, Sage, on his football win last night! Woo Hoo!

What's Up?

Update time.

I have temporarily renamed the blog (obviously), as the old name was no longer appropriate.

Job is so challenging. I love it most days, but there is a lot of stress involved.

I'm so tired of being a student. I am almost 100% positive I'm going to take the summer off, even though I know it will put me behind a year.

I am dabbling in the world of maternity clothes. I moved "up a size" in pants a while ago, but now those are even uncomfortable some days.

It's weird, pressure on my stomach makes me queasy.

Morning sickness has eased to a managable level, but is not gone. The difference between the first trimester and now, is that now food makes it worse. Then, food made it better. I will never understand this.

Today makes 17 weeks. Last week I took the first official picture of the 'bump'. Here it is:

Back at my 9 week appointment baby had his or her first photograph. This is here:

The weird thing about now is that I'm starting to feel like a mom. I'm really weird about crowds and rowdy kids at school. Always keeping my distance from too much physical contact, don't want anything bumping the baby. Guess you can go ahead and put a check mark in the over protective mom box for me:)

4 Years and Counting

September 2nd marked the official 4 year anniversary of the day we were married.

Bill and I eloped at a B&B in Hot Springs Arkansas on Labor Day weekend after a mere 5 months of dating.

Many thought we were crazy. Many were right! But I know then like I know now, that he is the man God intended for me.

Here lately more than ever he has proven that. We have had some major life changes and he has taken them in stride. He has been there to take care of me and help with things around the house.

He's been attentive, kind and caring in a way I wouldn't have thought possible for a man.

I so appreciate him and I am so proud to be his wife.

So here are a few highlights of our time together...

Early days of dating...had to get him approved by the friends (specifically Andee and JD!)

Bill playing washers with the family (and meeting them for the first time!)

Us at Court and Dusty's engagement party (shortly after we were engaged)

Our wedding

Buying our first home

Our first Christmas

The time we both cut off our hair!

Attending one of many golf tournaments together

A more recent of us at Easter with family

But of all the things we've shared together this new adventure is sure to be the most exciting of all....

So, Have I Mentioned I Had a Birthday?

Since you all OBVIOUSLY haven't heard enough about my birthday yet, I celebrated again this weekend. Twice!

First, I had dinner with my Texas Mom (Geri) and my great friend Robin at my favorite lil restaurant on the Harbor. Delicious! And so much fun! Totally not following my rules, they brought gifts. But they were fabulous gifts, so all is forgiven:) Geri got me this great koozi that says birthday girl on it and has a pink and black feather boa wrapped around it - I DIE! Made the waiter put my drinks in a glass that fits the koozie;=) Robin got me some super cute Yellow Box shoes and a wine stopper that looks like a giant pink diamond. How they know me well!

Geri is NOT a picture taker (though we did get a nice shot of her giving the waiter her "take a picture of the hand" pose, haha), but here is one of the Ultra Fabulous Robin and I.

So Saturday morning was UIL. I coached Ready Writing (yup, coached a writing team. that's as atheltic as I get). My kids rocked. I had 3 competitors and one alternate on my team. We got First and Fourth. I know, you're jealous.

Saturday night was official girls night bday dinner. We went to my favorite local Italian place. Bill cooked at home for the guys and was sweet enough to foot the bill for the girls. Because we had a larger group, they put us in the wine room, which totally hurt my feelings, lol. But there were a few people eating at the bar. One was an elderly gentleman who had a very distinct sounding voice. More accurately, he sounded just like Froggy. Lots of entertainment from that. Here are some shots, though I am sad to say that Stacie and Katie had to leave quickly and I missed getting them in a group shot or Stacie at all:(

Predinner at the maison.

Wine room (I know, Captain Obvious!)

Bday cake.

Okay, funny story about the cake. Stacie's birthday is less than 2 weeks after mine (ie, this week) and her party is Friday. She is completely obsessed with t-shirts. NO JOKE, SHE HAS MILLIONS! Anyway, she asked me what I wanted for my bday and I said a tiara (see earlier post, she got it! haha!) and I asked her what she wanted and she said a tshirt. Later she amended it to a tshirt that said Birthday B**** in rhinestones. Well, you can't just go to the mall and buy that! But I found a site that let's you design your own. So I gave it to her at dinner from Jacque, Gracie and I so she would have it for her celebration next weekend. Waitress thought we were out for her birthday and got real upset when she left before she could bring her the cake! LOL. But I told her she was fine, it was my birthday, so she felt better. Haha. Anyway, the B part is in turquoise and didn't show up well, but here is Stacie in her much-love t-shirt, haha.

Tammy adhered to my no gift rule - sort of. She made me a cake. She said I could get by without a birthday gift, but not without a birthday cake. Well, it was freakingfantabulous! Chocolate truffle torte something or other - idk. Alls I know is, it was good. Jacque cheated, too. Thanks to her I'm getting a pedicure next week;-)

Well, tomorrow is church and study group, so I'm pretty sure I won't be celebrating my birthday anymore. I do have a picture of the buffet my mom and dad gave me to share. BFF Court helped with decorating it. One of her gifts is the metal magnet bored and magnets in the center.

Also, filed under the category It's Not All About Holly, Jacque and Matt welcomed Annmarie home a couple weeks ago. She is healthy and beautiful! Here's her first shot with Auntie Holly!! (Okay, it is a little about me! Haha!)

I also made an adorable stationary find today, so be expecting ultra-cute thank you cards. Hope you all have a great weekend!! We did!

Another Baby Shower!

I know this post is late, but when you see all that we did this weekend, you'll know why I needed my rest;=)

Saturday morning we get up and leave our house at 7. We drive to Mom's and drop off Noah and head on to Baton Rouge. We get to Court and Dusty's about 11:30 and Court and I head to LaPlace to get her mom's house ready for the shower. So much fun!

So we all worked really hard and got a lot done. It was great! Meanwhile, the boys were at Buffalo Wild Wings watching the Saints game, so we headed there to meet them. The place was packed and the energy was awesome! So proud of my hometown NFL team!!

I know, kinda blurry, but we were sitting too close!

You try to get the man to take a nice picture...haha

So, after the game, Court and I run to Barnes and Noble right quick (have I mentioned I'm addicted to the Twilight series??? Late, I know, but it's my new thing) and then meet the guys at the grocery store. Why?? Because we are going to grill!!

Me and the cutest lil' momma I know!

Lucy attacking Bill (as usual!)

Dusty working his magic;=)

Okay, believe it or not, we still made it to bed around 11. Haha!

Sunday morning I get up early to get the spinach and artichoke dip in the oven and to make sure we have plenty of time to get everything loaded. Court and I head out to LaPlace and finish getting the food out for the shower. Amber met us there and Larry was there already (this kid has the greatest godparents!). Needless to say, this little bundle of joy is well set! Many great gifts were received. He or she also has an expansive LSU wardrobe waiting, and a few Saints pieces, too. The guys came up at the end to load all the stuff and bring it back to Baton Rouge. I, of course, forgot to bring my gift to the shower. I did think far enough in advance to have it shipped to Court and Dusty's, so they opened it when we got home. Here are the pics from Sunday:

The glass says "Momma's Sippy Cup". No joke!

Dad, Larry, Sr.

Court opening the gift I forgot:( It even has super-cute LSU baby paper!

So the shower also gave me a chance to catch up with some old pageant buddies (and mutual friends from Courtney), which was so great! Especially Amy B. and Sara. Sara brought her new baby girl, which was awesome! She's beautiful! Not sure her stance on posting pics of the baby, so I won't post those.

So Sunday night we drove back to my mom's and slept there. Bill got up early and headed back to work. Mom and I left around lunch. We dropped Noah back at the house and went and paid for my bday present from her (which will arrive Saturday, I'll post pics then!) and then headed to Aaron and Celina's because I have a new cousin!!!

Take a look at the beautiful Angel Riley! Isn't she gorgeous?!?

So that was our super-busy weekend! Needless to say, I was in bed quite early last night. Luckily we have a fairly relaxing weekend ahead, lol. Hope everyone has a great week!
